Hi, I'm Lela! Welcome to my portfolio. Here you'll find a glimpse of my college experience in the University of Washington Honors program. This site intends to highlight my most meaningful college experiences, both in and outside the classroom. Follow me as I explore UW and the world around me.
A Look at My College Experience
Thanks for coming to my portfolio! This site is somewhat of a digital scrapbook of my time at the University of Washington. My portfolio intends to highlight the meaningful experiences I have had through the UW Honors program.
But before jumping into my portfolio, here is some more about me.
Currently, I am a senior at the University of Washington majoring in Environmental Studies, and minoring in Urban Design and Planning, and Danish. I made the laborious journey out of Cougar country from Eastern Washington and over the Cascades, to become a Husky in 2016. Although I love the Inland Northwest, Seattle has been a a great home for me as I pursue my passions. Growing up in the Northwest, I was almost always immersed in nature. I grew to develop an affinity for the outdoors, I am a self-proclaimed cryosphere nerd, and spend much of my free time exploring the region's beauty , and the rest of my time daydreaming about the many amazing ecosystems I hope to eventually visit. I have been lucky to visit some great natural landscapes while in college, both for my education, and just my own interests. Many of the photos on this site are from these travels, in some of the Nordic countries, Canada, Alaska, and Utah, as well as right here in the PNW.
Aside from getting outside, I try to have some indoor creative outlets, which has been a great way to deal with Seattle's often inclement weather. I spend much of my free time painting, doodling, and knitting sometimes questionable-quality woolen apparel (you might say they are 'rustic'). When I'm not trying to further my amateur art skills, as a major cinephile and food lover, I'm also likely to be found experimenting in the kitchen, baking for friends, and snacking while catching up on movies and TV.
